Sailor Shikiori 5th Anniversary “Minori – 穣”

Sailor celebrates the 5th Anniversary of its Shikiori (Four Seasons) pen series with the colour theme of “Minori – abundant harvest”. The design of this 1911S model depicts the scenery of rice paddies whose colours change throughout the four seasons. The shape is reminiscent of a single grain of glossy rice, and the colouring is based on the image of fresh rice and rice ears. “Minori” means bountiful harvest in Japanese.

To represent the changing seasons in a single pen and strike a balance between the colours of each season and the overall colour, Sailor continued to study this from the design drawing to the product sample. The small glitter in the light blue barrel of the fountain pen has a slight greenish glow, which is reminiscent of rice planted in a paddy field. The green nib section depicts the growing rice ears under sunshine and the clear cap with glitter recalls rice planting with water and the sky reflected on the water. The result is a writing instrument with a special colouring and includes a different colour arrangement and attention to detail from the previous Shikiori series.

This 5th anniversary edition is available in ballpoint and fountain pen. Each fountain pen comes with a 14k gold nib in MF and packaged in an anniversary gift box. A 20ml anniversary colour ink bottle and converter are included in the gift box. Just as the green rice plants ripen to a golden colour and eventually return to the soil, the anniversary ink colour changes from green to earthy brown as it dries on paper.
