Sailor pays tribute to the beauty of the changing seasons with its latest collection, the second in the Seasonal Festival Series. The Professional Gear Slim “Solar Term” is inspired by the solstices and equinoxes, which are marked in Japanese culture with community gatherings and seasonal foods.

Available in four delicate colour combinations, each “Solar Term” series fountain pen is complemented by gold plated accents with a 14k gold nib. A matching colour ink bottle and a converter are also included.

Fuki: The day of the vernal equinox. As it gets warmer, various plants will sprout. Fuki honours the vernal equinox with a hopeful light green shimmering resin barrel and cap with soft khaki-coloured finials that bring to mind budding plants.
Tako: The day of the summer solstice. Eating octopus, and praying that crops will grow in abundance like the legs of an octopus. Tako represents the summer solstice, with a faded deep rose coloured shimmering resin barrel and cap with cream finials inspired by the octopus traditionally eaten on this day in hopes of an abundant growing season.

Hagi: The day of the autumnal equinox. The red beans used in ‘Ohagi’ are believed to ward off evil spirits. Hagi captures the spirit of the autumnal equinox with colours inspired by the autumn bush clover: a soft petal pink shimmering resin barrel and cap with seafoam green finials.

Yuzuyu: Yuzuyu represents the Winter Solstice and the essence of a yuzu citrus bath – a remedy said to ward off colds during the winter season – with a muted turquoise shimmering resin barrel and cap with yuzu yellow finials.
