The Homo Sapiens Iris Garden limited edition is crafted from special semi-transparent acrylic resin, with a lavender, lilac and purple swirling effect inspired by the beautiful irises that bloom between the end of April and the end of May in the historic Giardino Dell’Iris (Iris Garden) of Florence.
The history of the so-called “lily of Florence” is controversial. It seems that it originated from a white Iris, the Iris Florentina, which grew abundantly in the Arno Valley during the Florentine Republic and which the people called “ghiacciolo” or icicle, for its white, slightly bluish colour.
The iris is not only a symbol of Florence, but also of its rich history and culture. The lily was adopted as the emblem of the city in the 11th century, when it was used to decorate the banners and shields of the Florentine soldiers. The lily also represents wisdom, courage and faith, qualities that have characterized Florence throughout the centuries.
The clip is laser engraved with Visconti logo and the pen closes with patented Visconti hook safe capping mechanism. The fountain pen features Power Filler Double Reservoir filling system and 18k gold nib plated in fine rose gold. A selection of five different nib sizes are offered: Extra-fine, Fine, Medium, Broad and Stub.
