颯 Hayate (Gale)
“Hayate” refers to a powerful gale or wind. It also means something that is pure and lively. Silver-round-powders are applied with differing intensities to express the wind, and silver-flat-powders and silver-round-powders are used in the background. The design symbolizes the appearance of a majestic wind.
清流 Seiryu (Limpid Stream)
“Seiryu” refers to a clear stream of water. The gentle flow of a brook or river deep within nature calms and enriches the mind. Blue dry lacquer powders are applied to expresses the pure flow of water. In the background, crushed abalone shellfish , silver-flat-powders and silver-round-powders are used to symbolize the brilliant surface of the water.
常盤 Tokiwa (Evergreen)
“Tokiwa” means something that will never change. The design expresses evergreen trees on a mountain that flourish without losing the colour of their leaves even in winter. Green dry lacquer powders are applied with differing intensities to symbolize the landscape of mountains with gradient colours. Crushed abalone shellfish and gold-flat-powders are used in the background to evoke the sparking stars in the sky.
Dry lacquer powders: Pigments are mixed with clear lacquer and applied to a glass surface several times. After drying, they are peeled off from the glass and crushed to create a unique powder.
