“錦秋” (pronounced “kinshu”, literally “brocade autumn”) describes the exquisite patterns of autumn leaves woven on the luxurious brocade silk. The new Namiki Yukari Chinkin Beauty of Autumn Leaves features the abundance of golden autumn leaves and a silver carp. Carps are said to be an incarnation of dragons, and symbolize good luck.
Crafted by Yasuji Sumi of the Kokkokai group, Chinkin is a traditional technique that involves the use of a special chisel to engrave the patterns onto the lacquered surface. The autumn leaves and carp design is imbued with colour by applying an additional layer of lacquer to the chisel’s tracings and inlaying of gold and silver powder. This fine delicate work produces a powerful high relief with deep perspectives and rich textures.
Each pen comes with an 18k gold nib in size 10 (F, M and B). The outline of Mount Fuji and Namiki branding are engraved on the nib. The pen fills using cartridge or converter (CON-70 converter included), and comes packaged in a velvet-lined paulownia wood presentation box.
